Public Paediatric First Aid Courses in Telford for Childminders and Early Years Professionals

Cognet have been providing public paediatric first aid courses in Telford and Shrewsbury for over 12 years. Our course is:

Our courses are held on Saturdays to avoid disruption to your working week.

The Paediatric First Aid Course

The course is 12 hours or two days in duration. We deliver the course over two consecutive Saturdays whenever possible. You do need to attend both days to be eligible to receive a 12 hour Paediatric First Aid certificate.

Each day starts at 9.30am. We ask that you arrive approximately 15 minutes early to get a drink and settle in before we start. Each day ends at 4.30pm.

The course content meets OFSTED requirements:

  • Assessing the casualty (all ages) & situation
  • The unconscious casualty (all ages)
  • Choking (all ages)
  • Resuscitation (all ages)
  • Shock (including bleeding, anaphylaxis, diabetes sickle cell anaemia, burns and fractures)
  • Head injuries including neck and spinal injuries
  • Dealing with foreign bodies
  • Management of poisoning
  • Extremes of temperature
  • Seizures including epilepsy and febrile convulsions
  • Asthma
  • Meningitis and other sudden illness
  • Open forum

The Venue

Our Paediatric First Aid courses are held at Meeting Point House in Telford. It has a central location, available parking and good bus links. Meeting Point House has a excellent ground floor cafe, disabled access and warm friendly welcome.
